Starts with rough and coarse industrial strength diamond tools which progressively becomes finer
Number of grinding steps and depth of grinding would depend on:
- For existing concrete floors, presence of topical coatings and thickness of coating to be removed
- Desired Level of Aggregate Exposure
a.) Cream Finish (No Exposed Aggregate)
b.) Salt and Pepper Finish (Exposed Sand and Small Aggregate)
c.) Heavy Aggregate (1/4 - 1/2" Exposed Aggregate)
Involves the Application of the RetroPlate Chemical Densifier.
RetroPlate is Chemically Reactive and Penetrating and is specifically formulated for Polished Concrete Floors.
Densification Process ensures the Long Term Durability of RetroPlate Polished Concrete Floors.
Involves Mechanically Polishing the concrete floor using Fine Diamond Tools.
No Topical Coating or Chemicals are applied on the surface which provide an Artificial Looking and Temporary Gloss that will fade over time.
Number of Polishing Steps would depend on the desired level of gloss:
Level 1 - Flat Finish:
- None to Very Slight Diffused Reflection
Level 2 - Matte Finish:
- With or Without Slight Diffusion
Level 3 - Polished Finish:
- Objects Reflected are easily identified but not as sharp and crisp
Level 4 - Highly Polished:
- Objects appear sharp and crisp as would be seen in a mirror-like reflection
